REOPENING OUR BUILDING

SEPTEMBER 13

If you plan to attend the 10:00 am worship service inside the FCC Building, things might look a little different than they did in March. We developed new guidelines to minimize the risk of COVID-19:

  • Worship will be a “zero touch” experience. You won’t see bulletins or offering plates. Please bring your own cup of coffee or drink of water.

  • Masks are required in the building. They will be provided for anyone who doesn’t have one.

  • Short, family style service (about 45 minutes and no separate kids/youth ministry)

  • Social distancing will be practiced. If service size approaches 50 people, we will schedule an additional service.

  • We ask our congregation to please stay home and join us online if you have any health concerns, or anyone in your family has:

    • Fever of 100.4 or higher in the past 24 hours (without fever reducing medication)

    • Uncontrolled cough

    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

    • Sore throat

    • Loss of sense of smell or taste

    • Muscle aches

    • Vomiting or diarrhea

    • Awaiting COVID-19 test results or live in the same household with someone positive for COVID19

    • Had close contact with someone who in the past 14 days who tested positive for COVID-19

  •  In the event that someone who attended church tests positive for COVID19, we will notify the other people in attendance of potential exposure as well as thoroughly clean the church building prior to resuming worship services. If someone who attends church tests positive for COVID19, please notify a church staff member as soon as possible.

  • We are continuing to monitor the situation in our community to determine any necessary changes. We understand some people may not be comfortable attending church in person and we encourage you to make the best choice for your family and situation as you consider attending in person or continue to worship with us online.

This is a time for us to practice what it looks like to “love your neighbor as yourself”.  We encourage all of us to participate in things that slow the spread of COVID-19 even if we do not personally feel at risk.  Look for ways to be a good neighbor and share the hope and love of Christ.  Pray for each other, our community and the world.  Stand firm and remember that “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble”.  Psalm 46:1

We close today with encouragement from Philippians 4:6-7.  “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

May the Peace of the Lord be with you,
