Baptism is a powerful way that we experience the grace and love of God, and it shows others that you have been made brand new. When you are dipped under the water it is a symbol that you are dying to your old sinful life, and when you come up out of the water it is a symbol that you have been washed clean and been given brand new life by your faith in Jesus!

"For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives."
Romans 6:4 NLT

WHAT IS BAPTISM?

Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17) It involves applying water to the Christian which symbolizes their death to the old way of life (Romans 6:3-4), and then the breaking free from water which symbolizes the new life God provides them (Galatians 3:26-27). Baptism, a sacramental “means of grace,” seals one’s intention to follow God but it is not an act of salvation that takes away one's sins (Acts 2:37-41, 8:35-39, 10:44-48).
Baptism is a sacrament, which is just a fancy word to say that it is an action through which we worship God and receive His grace! It is also a celebration of your transformation into a more Jesus-shaped life.

WHY GET BAPTIZED?

Baptism is proclaiming and celebrating your new life and identity in Christ.

Baptism is commanded by Jesus.

"Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit."
Matthew 28:19 NLT
